Zealspeaks

At the present time, Zealspeaks unites four people born at different places. There is Danny (1986) a Jogjakarta-born, Toba (1983) who was born in Bandung, Dimas (1983) in Lhokseumawe, and Fachrizal (1984) in Medan.

Falling deeply in love to music experienced by each of the members gave birth to Zealspeaks. At first there were Danny Maretta and Toba Manurung. They’ve been together in a band during 2001–2003 when they were still in high school in Bandung. Thus formed The Clover (2004 – 2008). When the band was idling, Danny resided in various places, such as Jakarta, Jogja and Bali. Three years later, these two friends met again and forming another band in Bandung, the very city where they first met. The band was unnamed yet.

On February13, 2012, Danny and Toba formed Zeal. They were both agreed to run the band as the dynamic duo. But things do change. Along the time, they met Dimas Arditya and Donnie Michael. They were childhood friends and frequently jamming in some performances. And thus more spirit added to the band.

On October 2012, considering that “Zeal” was a common name for a band they changed it into Zealspeaks. Rumor also had it that “Zeal” was going to be used as the name for a cell-phone brand. Besides, the new name would serve as a signifier for the two newcomers, Dimas and Donnie. 

First demo was made in Antapani, Bandung, entitled The First Solitude (2012) with home recording quality and consisted of three songs: Dear Strange, Splitmind and Till The End of Days. 

On January 2013, Donnie decided to focus on his business in making guitar/bass effect and replaced by Fachrizal, a friend of Dimas from Medan. Recently, Zealspeaks is preparing their first album, consists of 10 songs in which 3 songs of them in The First Solitude are rerecorded.
